Claremont Camping Supplies

Basically, we're going to be outside for a couple of days and we're all interesting folk, but not that interesting. So bring some stuff along.

What could I pack?

General

  • Tents
    • The fewer tents we need to bring, the better. Need a tent? Ask one of these people! Maybe they can help.
      • People Who Own 2-Person Tents: Ellen, MacKenzie, Mike, Rudy, Andy
      • People Who Own 3-Person Tents: Kelly/Jay
      • People Who Own 4-Person Tents: Benj, Ellen
  • Tarps
  • Tablecloths
  • Folding chairs
    • I'm going to repeat this one: bring a goddamned chair. Seriously. At least one.
  • Blankets
  • Proper outdoor sleeping supplies
    • Sleeping bag and sleeping pad
    • Air mattress, pump, and blankets
    • Pillows
  • Flashlight or camping lantern
  • Batteries for flashlight or camping lantern
  • Money, in cash

Eating and Drinking

  • Cup for water/beverages
  • Plate and/or bowl (if you don't feel like washing it in between your meals, bring paper)
  • Utensils
  • Napkins, kerchief, towel, or other "I just got food on myself" repairer
  • Skewer for marshmallows (though a stick is fully acceptable)
  • Supplies for cooking your meal
  • Cooler or other device for keeping things that should be cold (like, say, meat) cold
  • Implements for cooking your meal (pots, pans, wooden spoons, etc.)
  • There will be 5 gallons of water for the weekend. If you think you'll need more than this and a spigot can provide, bring some.

Personal Care and Apparel

  • Hairbrush or comb
  • Hair thingies
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste and toothbrush
  • Floss
  • Contact lens solution and cases
  • Medication (antihistamines, Advil, prescriptions), vitamins, etc.
  • Feminine protection products
  • Sunscreen
  • Shampoo, soap, shower shoes etc. (if you plan to use any available coin operated showers)
  • Towel
  • Hat
  • PJs
  • Enough clothing for three days outdoors
    • Bring layers, as this is California and temperatures can fluctuate between 40 and 100 degrees
  • Swimsuit
  • Footwear appropriate to the activities you want to do (hiking shoes, sandals, etc.)

Fun

  • Board and card games
  • Fun outdoor games
  • Books
  • GPS for geocaching
